How To Use

For ensuring ripeness, check for a little giving with slight pressure applied at the stem of the Mangoes. Soak the Alphonso in cold water for a while before you consume the fruit. Alphonso is excellent for eating fresh out of hand. You can bite, squeeze, and suck the pulp or simply slice it to enjoy fresh. Add the cubes to fruit salads, to milk or use them to garnish cakes or ice-creams. Puree to flavour yoghurts, and ice-creams, or cook for jams, and jellies. Make amazing Indian desserts like aamras, aam papad, aam halwa, aamrakhand, etc. Use the pulp for baking pies, cakes, or as salad dressing. Freeze the pulp for making ice lollies or blend for milkshakes and smoothies. Mangoes are one of the most versatile fruits that can be relished in any form.

Interesting Facts

Alphonso is the most expensive among other varieties of Mangoes in India. In 1953, Alphonso was exported to London from Mumbai’s legendary Crawford Market for the Queen’s crowning day celebrations. In 2006 when the 43rd President of the United States, George. W. Bush came to India, he tried an Alphonso Mango and confessed that he had never in life eaten a fruit as good as Alphonso.
